02 Jan Time to Focus
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matt 6:33
Happy New Year! Last year was exceptionally challenging but thank God we made it to 2021. I know we are all anxiously anticipating the promise of this new year. What goals do you have? What are your resolutions? Whatever goals or plans you have for 2021, I would like to challenge you to place Matt 6:33 on that list.
Matt 6:33 starts with a directive to seek God and His ways first and ends with the assurance that if we do that, everything else will fall into place. Trying to lose weight? Put God first and seek His guidance on how to accomplish that. Want that big promotion? Seek God and determine if that is His will for you and then trust that if it is, it will happen. If it does not, trust that He has a better plan for you. Want to have an improved relationship? Seek God and put Him front and center in that relationship and see what direction it takes.
This year our theme will be focus. If we learned anything from 2020, it is to slow down and not take anything for granted. This year we will seek ways that we can focus and prioritize areas in our lives. Our authenticity lies in knowing who we are and staying true to what is truly important to us and to our purpose.
