All Good

All Good

Recently I saw a drawing on the internet of a deceased performer.  It was the most realistic drawing I had ever seen; it looked like a photograph. I had to zoom in multiple times and at various angles to confirm that it truly was a drawing. The person that drew the picture was rightfully being hailed as a talented, up and coming artist. The post had gone viral and people wanted to see more. Who else could she draw with such precision and skill?

As I type this, I am on a flight flying high above the earth. I am seeing patches of land in various hues of green and brown. I am seeing stretches of blue water – lakes, streams, rivers and the bay. As we are jetting through the sky, we are pushing our way through the clouds; some are wisps of white, while others are like giant cotton balls suspended mid-air.

As I admire God’s handiwork, I realize that He truly is the ultimate artist. Picasso, Monet, and Michelangelo were great, but they were not the original. God is the original and greatest artist of all time. All that we see and all that we are is because of His vision. He created all this out of nothing. It was so awesome, that even He had to sit back and acknowledge that “it was good” (Genesis 1).

Take some time today to read the first chapter of Genesis and really grasp the fact that God is The Creator. Imagine a blank slate with absolutely nothing and then look around and see how nothing became something. Take a minute to look at yourself in the mirror. Everything that we are from the hair on our head, down to our pinky toes is a masterpiece designed by God. When you really take the time to fully grasp that, you won’t be able to keep yourself from smiling and getting excited about the God we serve. He created all this and it is all good!

Note: Photos in this post were taken from the plane during a couple of my flights.
