11 Sep At All Times
“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalms 34:1).
Praise is easy when the sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze. Praise is easy when you are admiring the beauty of the ocean as you are reclining in a beach chair. Praise is NOT easy in the middle of a storm and definitely not in the midst of a category 4 or 5 hurricane.
During the recent hurricanes there have been frightening images of flooded streets, fallen trees and collapsed buildings. But in the midst of the turmoil, there have been powerful, uplifting images of hope and yes, praise. One video shows individuals singing praises to God in the middle of a shelter in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Another video shows a large group singing “Great I Am” as they stand on the beach in Miami, anticipating the arrival of Hurricane Irma. Despite whatever anxiety or fears these individuals were feeling they chose to praise God in the midst of it all. They serve as a wonderful reminder to us all that we should, indeed, bless the Lord at ALL times.
