25 Feb Simply Lovely
What do you think of when you hear the word “lovely?” Does that word bring images of a delicate flower or a beautiful painting? Does it make you think of a warm day at the beach or a brisk day in the mountains? Truth is, “lovely” is in the eyes and mind of the beholder.
As we wrap up this series based on Philippians 4:8, we turn our thoughts to beauty and virtue. It says “whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Other versions use words such as admirable, excellent and beautiful. Simply put, think about things that make you smile.
Spend some time this week thinking about lovely things. Make a collage, save pics on your phone or place a pretty picture on your desk. Do whatever you need to do to remind yourself to think about beautiful things.
Reflection: What makes you smile?
